Job Description

We are looking for a dynamic Head of People to play a key role in shaping our client’s new operations in Calgary, AB. This exciting opportunity will initially focus on talent acquisition, onboarding, and establishing foundational HR structures. As the business grows, you will evolve into a strategic HR partner—driving workforce planning, employee development, and compensation & benefits initiatives across Canada.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the strategic and operational People partner for the client’s regional Executive Management.

  • Lead the implementation of global and regional People strategies across Canadian operations.

  • Guide and support regional business expansion from a People strategy perspective.

  • Develop, execute, and monitor KPIs to measure performance and service quality from internal and external providers.

  • Coordinate and implement regional People initiatives, processes, and procedures, ensuring governance, compliance, and alignment with business objectives.

  • Lead regional talent acquisition, development, training, and succession planning strategies, collaborating closely with global People teams.

  • Act as an integral member of the global People International Team, contributing to group-wide initiatives as required.

  • Prepare and deliver strategic presentations, communications, and workshops.

  • Manage qualified contractors and coordinate service provider integration in Canada.

  • Lead the Canadian People team, currently consisting of one employee in Montreal and one in Calgary.

  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support organizational objectives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree highly desirable.

  • 4+ years of senior-level HR/People consultancy or management experience in Canada, ideally with regional exposure.

  • Proven track record of partnering with Senior Management, including VP-level executives and above.

  • Demonstrated expertise in scaling operations, building high-performing teams, and leading full-cycle recruitment and strategic workforce planning.

  • Leadership experience is a plus, with opportunities to grow into a strategic leadership role.

  • Bilingual in English and French is an asset.
