Manager of Operations
Job Description
Our client is seeking a senior operational leader to provide strategic coordination and execution support across technical operating departments. Reporting to the General Manager, this role plays a critical function in strengthening operational effectiveness, service quality, and sustainable growth while ensuring alignment with corporate mission, vision, and business objectives.
Acting as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, this individual will bridge strategy and execution — enabling informed decision-making, removing operational barriers, and ensuring cross-functional collaboration drives measurable results.
This is a high-impact leadership role designed for a professional who understands how to connect operational performance, financial discipline, and business growth within complex, service-oriented environments.
Responsibilities:
Operational Leadership & Team Enablement
Build trusted relationships with senior leaders and managers to drive alignment and accountability.
Remove operational barriers and enhance team performance across departments.
Coach managers to strengthen leadership capability and decision-making.
Ensure teams consistently deliver high-quality, professional, and responsive service.
Optimize resource allocation to maximize efficiency and results.
Project Oversight & Business Performance
Provide market insights to guide operational planning and strategic priorities.
Partner on budgets and lead performance-driven reviews for financial and delivery outcomes.
Identify risks, inefficiencies, and cost pressures; implement corrective actions.
Track growth, partner contributions, and service performance metrics.
Deliver actionable, data-driven insights to support executive decision-making.
Business & Sales Alignment
Ensure operational readiness aligns with revenue growth and business development strategies.
Monitor KPIs related to margins, client satisfaction, and service delivery.
Drive collaboration between operations and business development to maximize impact.
Foster operational understanding of financial and customer outcomes across teams.
Communication & Organizational Alignment
Maintain clear, consistent communication across departments and partners.
Engage with teams to assess morale, performance, and operational realities.
Reinforce mission, vision, and values while ensuring clarity on strategic direction.
Senior Management Contribution
Provide operational insight and industry context to guide executive decisions.
Support policy development and process improvements to enhance efficiency.
Identify emerging risks and industry trends impacting operations.
Facilitate cross-functional partnerships to strengthen alignment and business outcomes
Requirements
Post-secondary education in Business, Operations Management, Engineering, or a related discipline.
7–10+ years of progressive experience in operations, project coordination, or technical services environments.
Demonstrated experience supporting managers or leading operational teams.
Exposure to utilities, infrastructure, engineering services, Crown corporations, or similar regulated environments.
Experience with budgeting, financial tracking, and performance monitoring.
Understanding of how operations contribute to sales growth and business development.
