  • Joleen Droste

    Partner, CEO

    Joleen started her career in corporate sales at a public accounting firm in Calgary. In 2007, she moved into what would be her lifelong career, recruitment. She started with an Alberta-based agency, grew into a leadership position with a focus on Senior Finance and Management searches, and eventually made the switch into Executive Search. Joleen holds a degree in Communications from the University of Calgary and has been RPR designated. In 2020, Joleen relocated with her family from Canada to the US, and now manages recruitment for both the Canadian and US divisions of Catch.

    She has a passion and drive for finding the right candidate that aligns with a company’s culture and technical requirements. She has overseen searches in all business lines but has a specialty and love for Finance, Management, and Operations.

    When not at work, Joleen enjoys spending time with her family and friends, and exploring the outdoors in Utah.

  • Jessica Kopitar

    Partner, VP Sales & Marketing

    Jessica is an award-winning recruitment professional with over a decade of experience in talent acquisition. She has a background in account management and business development and transitioned into recruitment after obtaining her Registered Professional Recruiter designation. She then grew into a senior-level position as a result of her genuine desire to build formative relationships while delivering quality talent to meet organizational objectives.

    Jessica specializes in Accounting and Finance, Human Resources, Payroll, Sales, Information Technology, and Administration. Since the launch of Catch, she has continued to build strong relationships with clients and candidates, customizing their experience for successful matches, even under tight timelines. Jessica is passionate about community involvement and has served as a board director for nonprofits in Calgary.

    On evenings and weekends, you may find Jessica at a fitness studio, out for dinner with friends supporting local businesses, or at a dog park with her husband, two small children, and two very large dogs.

  • Leah Gardner

    Controller

    Leah Gardner has always had a passion for numbers. She holds a degree in Finance from the University of Calgary and started her career as a Capital Accountant in oil and gas. She has worked in A/P, audit, budget forecasting and project accounting throughout her career.

    Since 2013 she has been operating her own business in Golden, BC., doing full cycle accounting for a wide variety of businesses across Western Canada. Helping people achieve their business goals has been one of the most rewarding things she has done thus far in her career, and she is very excited to be working with the team at Catch. Her other main gig is music; she hosts a singing group and a community fiddle jam in her living room a few times a month. You can also find her playing in a few local Kootenay bands and at festivals throughout the summer months.

    When she isn't building pretty graphs or playing her fiddle, you can find her going up and down the local mountains on her bike, skis or feet with her husband and dog, Tatter.

  • Dustin Bakala

    Senior Business Development Executive

    Owning more than a decade in the fast-paced and ever-changing technical recruitment industry, Dustin brings an analytical mind to strategic partnerships while creating a client-first mentality. Dustin works with clients across Canada and the US and specializes in challenging Engineering and Technical roles within the Energy, Chemical, EPC, and Construction industries. His career trajectory has been marked by a genuine desire to build formative relationships and deliver quality talent to meet the most challenging organizational objectives.

    Building on a passion for team building, problem solving, and communication has earned him a reputation for reliability and effectiveness with clients focused on long-term growth solutions and challenging major projects. He believes the best thing about recruitment is when a win-win is found with a candidate and client that brings future professional growth and outstanding business results.

    Outside of his professional life, Dustin commits his time to new podcasts, eclectic music, and networking. Known for being very competitive, Dustin is an active but awful golfer, curler, and snowboarder.

  • Whitney James

    Senior Sales Executive

    Whitney was born and raised in Alberta and has spent over twenty years in client care roles.

    At the age of nineteen she followed a dream and became one of the youngest flight attendants for Sky Service Airlines. She would fly around the southern destinations, while maintaining her then passion for opening and managing high-end restaurants in the Calgary Metropolis and discovered who would become one of her greatest mentors.

    After months of field training and night classes at SAIT, Whitney was hired on at one of the largest international oilfield service companies in 2012 and began her business development and professional sales career. Whitney naturally began to grow her network and continued to build impactful relationships with hard work and dedication to her clients. Fast forward to today, Whitney is a partner in a growing successful oilfield services company that specializes in production and completion services, and data acquisition, which has now led her to recruitment. Her attention to detail, and awareness of personnel uniqueness sets her apart.

    When she carves out that “me-time” she enjoys camping and riding her bike. She takes any excuse to go fishing very serious. In her free time from sports and chores, she thoroughly enjoys a home cooked meal that she creates, cuddling with her little dog Tokyo and curling up to a good Netflix series.

  • Cassandra Crowell

    Sales Executive

    Cassandra began her career in the service industry, with client care at the forefront. As a born and raised Calgarian, she has spent the last 10 years in oil and gas, in the areas of sales and operations. The move into recruitment was a natural fit for Cassandra, with her passion for the growth of the city she calls home, and continuing to foster the strong culture of hard work and success of Alberta. Cassandra's work experience has provided her with a unique understanding of the needs of this marketplace, and the people within it.


    Cassandra loves experiencing new cultures and when not in the office, she can be found traveling the world and enjoying some of her favorite adventures. These include scuba diving, paddle boarding and climbing mountain peaks. A passionate foodie, she equally enjoys displaying her own culinary prowess for friends and family, or exploring the best restaurants wherever her travels take her.

  • Amy Hawksworth

    Senior Recruitment Executive

    Amy started her career in the food service industry, quickly progressing to the General Manager role at 19. Following her passion for people and service, Amy transitioned her career to sales, managing food service accounts within the BC region for over two years. 2009 Amy continued to follow her passion for people and service after taking time off to travel the world. She transitioned into a rewarding career in Human Resources, becoming the Western Recruitment Sourcing Specialist for Starbucks Canada. It was there that she decided that recruitment would be her long-term career.

    Over the past 15 years, Amy has utilized her passions and expertise to source and recruit the industry's top talent. With a specialization in the CPG and Retail industry, Amy has consistently demonstrated her ability to identify and attract exceptional candidates who align with her clients' needs and organizational culture. Amy's commitment to excellence and her unwavering focus on delivering results have earned her recognition as a leader in her field.

    During the evenings and weekends, you'll find Amy spending time with her young family, participating in Bootcamp classes at Oxygen Yoga or training on her road bike for an upcoming race. goes here

  • Erin Boyd

    Recruitment Executive

    Erin brings over six years of diverse recruitment and sales experience and has always been a people-person. She is born and raised in Calgary, however she forged her independence by attending University in Halifax. There she studied Sociology and Law & Society and brought back a wide range of knowledge to her hometown where she started her career in retail. Her passion for customer success and sales led her to a successful five year career of managing sales teams in Calgary and Vancouver.As a Sales Manager, her favourite part of the role was recruiting, hiring, and training a strong team of retail professionals, and therefore a career in Recruitment seemed like the perfect fit. Being a fast-learner, she quickly became a natural in full-cycle Recruitment, specializing in Oil and Gas, Technology, IT and Engineering roles.

    She built a book of business that has allowed her to find top talent and make strong connections in a wide range of industries. She builds long-lasting relationships and considers herself a career matchmaker, focused on finding the right fit. She delivers a personal and positive experience and strives to produce strong results.


    In her spare time, Erin enjoys pilates and yoga, travelling, and researching a new recipe to try out on her loved ones.

  • Alison Caldwell

    Alison Caldwell

    Recruitment Executive

    Ali is a passionate recruitment professional with a people-first approach supported by over a decade of experience in hospitality and team management. Ali thrives in a people-focused environment and brings a career-manager approach to her recruitment process. Her career in recruitment began with the hospitality industry where she was the Recruitment Manager of a North American restaurant group, hiring 250+ people during the opening of their Canadian flagship location. She transitioned into agency recruitment and since has focused on technical roles, mainly within the Accounting and Finance sector.

    Although graduating from McMaster University with a Bachelor of Classics, Ali will tell you she went to university for water polo, spending her undergraduate career as a varsity water polo player. Originally from Ontario, she has called the West Coast home after moving to Vancouver years ago inspired by adventure, the ocean, and the proximity of the mountains. In her spare time, she is often found hiking in the forest, seeking out camping spots along the coast, or tasting new varieties of red wine.

  • Kareen Gagnon

    Recruitment Coordinator

    Kareene, originally from Ontario with deep Quebecois roots, holds a degree in French from the University of Toronto. Her love of travel inspired a fulfilling career as a Flight Attendant with Canada 3000, Sky Service, and Air Canada, allowing her to experience life across Canada, from Toronto and Montreal to Halifax and Vancouver. Her global travels include the serene beaches of Thailand and the historic streets of Europe, with a particular fondness for Paris.

    Now settled in Calgary with her husband and two teenage sons, Kareene transitioned from aviation to focus on making a difference in her community. As a certified First Aid Instructor with the Canadian Red Cross, she teaches CPR and emergency response, helping others gain essential life-saving skills. Currently, she serves as the Recruitment Coordinator at Catch Recruitment, where her diverse background and client-centered approach enable her to connect talented professionals with meaningful opportunities, fostering successful outcomes for both clients and candidates.

    An outdoor enthusiast, Kareene enjoys staying active and cheering on her sons in football, hockey, and golf. She also loves being her husband’s “taste tester” as he experiments with new recipes, and she often unwinds at her favorite restaurant, Mercato West. Known for her infectious laughter, Kareene lives by the motto: “Laugh Big, Laugh Hard,” believing a little laughter can brighten any day.

  • Tallis Schertzer

    Marketing and Recruitment Coordinator

    Tallis grew up in two drastically different worlds. Born in small-town Saskatchewan, she moved with her family to Saudi Arabia, attending school on a compound while travelling the world and learning new cultures, but Calgary has been her home for the last 25 years. After receiving a degree in International Relations from the University of Calgary, she followed a childhood dream and became a flight attendant with WestJet. With her career in Aviation, she developed a deep love of people and the connections that can be formed. She then went on to complete her 500hr yoga teacher training and loved teaching yoga while playing a bumping playlist. After an 18-year career in the aviation industry, Tallis embarked on a new career path in recruitment. A natural connector, Tallis was drawn to the field as someone who is passionate about helping to connect people with their passions.

    Tallis has been lucky enough to visit more than 40 countries across the globe, with some highlights including climbing Mount Kilimanjaro, volunteer work in South Africa, completing the West Coast Trail and most recently, an excursion throughout Sri Lanka.

    Having many passions, Tallis loves to travel with her husband and their young son Hugo. You can find her on her peloton bike, curled up with a good book or enjoying baking and eating any baked good.
