Accounting Administrator (Part-time)
Job Description
We are seeking an experienced part-time Accounting Administrator to play a key role in supporting the financial integrity and operational efficiency in our client’s organization. This is a hands-on, full-cycle accounting role responsible for managing day-to-day financial operations while also supporting month-end close and broader administrative functions across the organization.
The ideal candidate is a highly organized accounting professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment, brings strong technical accounting capability, and is comfortable owning both transactional and administrative responsibilities within a small to mid-sized business setting.
Responsibilities:
Manage daily cash activity, including bank reconciliations and support of cash flow monitoring and forecasting
Oversee full-cycle Accounts Payable, including invoice processing, coding, approvals, and weekly payment runs
Manage Accounts Receivable processes, including billing, payment application, and proactive collections follow-up
Administer employee expense reports and corporate credit card reconciliations, ensuring compliance with company policies
Maintain the fixed asset register, including additions, disposals, transfers, and depreciation tracking
Ensure accurate and timely maintenance of financial records and supporting documentation, in alignment with internal controls
Support month-end and quarter-end close processes through preparation of journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations
Assist with balance sheet account reconciliations and supporting schedules
Prepare internal financial reports, variance analyses, and summary reporting to support management decision-making
Process bi-weekly payroll for salaried and hourly employees, ensuring accuracy in hours, deductions, taxable benefits, and remittances
Maintain accurate and confidential employee records in compliance with internal policies and privacy requirements
Provide general administrative and back-office support to leadership as required
Support ongoing improvements to accounting and administrative processes to improve efficiency and accuracy
Requirements
5–10+ years of experience in full-cycle accounting, accounting administration, or a similar finance-focused role
Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field
Experience working within a small to mid-sized business environment is considered an asset
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, with advanced Excel capabilities
Experience with ERP systems such as NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics, SAP, or Sage is strongly preferred
High level of accuracy in financial processing, reporting, and payroll administration
Comfortable balancing structured accounting responsibilities with dynamic operational support needs
Clear and professional communicator, able to interact effectively with vendors, employees, and leadership
Able to manage multiple priorities and consistently meet strict deadlines (e.g., payroll, month-end close)
