Exploitation Engineer - Calgary, AB
Job Description
Our client is seeking an Exploitation Engineer to support asset optimization, reservoir evaluation, and strategic growth initiatives. This role will work closely with senior leadership and cross-functional teams to drive performance across a conventional asset base while contributing to acquisition and development activities.
The successful candidate will play a key role in identifying opportunities to enhance production, support investment decisions, and deliver technical insights that guide both operational and strategic outcomes. This is an opportunity to work within a collaborative team environment on a high-impact asset.
Responsibilities:
Lead reservoir evaluations to identify development opportunities and optimize asset performance
Assess waterflood performance and identify optimization and expansion opportunities
Provide technical input into field development planning and economic evaluations
Maintain and update reserve data and support reserve reporting processes
Coordinate third-party evaluations and reserve assessments as required
Support regulatory and compliance submissions to applicable governing bodies
Collaborate with operations teams to implement well and asset optimization programs
Support acquisition efforts through technical evaluations, economic analysis, and due diligence
Work closely with cross-functional teams to identify and assess growth opportunities
Requirements
Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation with 10+ years of Canadian upstream oil and gas experience
Strong experience in waterflood optimization and development
Proven experience supporting acquisition evaluations and technical due diligence
Experience working with third-party reserves evaluators
Proficiency with industry tools such as ValNav and Geoscout
