Senior Property Accountant - Edmonton, AB

Job Description

Our client, a leading residential property management organization, is seeking a Senior Property Accountant to oversee the full-cycle accounting for their Single-Family Division. This role will serve as the financial lead for a growing portfolio and will work closely with leadership to ensure timely, accurate reporting that supports operational decision-making. This is a high-impact position for a detail-oriented professional who thrives in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the full-cycle accounting process for a portfolio of single-family residential properties

  • Act as the primary financial liaison for the Single-Family Division, working directly with operations teams

  • Maintain accurate and timely financial records including month-end close, reconciliations, and reporting

  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis initiatives

  • Track and manage property-level transactions and financial data

  • Collaborate with property managers, tenants, and vendors to support accounting operations

  • Ensure compliance with company policies, industry standards, and audit requirements

Requirements

  • 3–5+ years of full-cycle property accounting experience (residential experience preferred)

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline (or equivalent experience)

  • Proficiency with Buildium or similar property management/accounting software

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and strong analytical capabilities

  • Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work independently and cross-functionally
