Job Description
Our client, a growing general contractor specializing in commercial and industrial construction, is seeking an experienced Senior Site Superintendent to take ownership of projects and lead site operations. About the Role
As a Site Superintendent, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of construction sites, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, and on budget. You will lead sub-trades, coordinate with office staff, and act as the primary on-site representative of the company. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys problem-solving, mentoring teams, and building strong relationships while taking full ownership of their projects.
Location: On-Site
Shift: 7am - 3pm
Responsibilities:
Oversee all on-site construction activities, ensuring compliance with design specifications, schedules, budgets, and safety standards.
Lead and coordinate the work of sub-trades, site staff, and suppliers, ensuring smooth workflows and timely delivery of milestones.
Implement and enforce health and safety procedures in line with WSBC policies and company standards.
Manage site logistics, including ordering materials, coordinating deliveries, and maintaining site organization.
Act as the key point of contact between the field and office teams, providing regular updates on progress, challenges, and solutions.
Proactively identify risks, troubleshoot issues, and implement corrective actions to keep projects on track.
Foster a positive work environment, building trust and collaboration with staff, sub-trades, and clients.
Continuously look for opportunities to improve processes, enhance efficiency, and elevate quality standards.
Perform other duties as required to support successful project delivery.
Requirements
10–20 years of experience in commercial and industrial construction, with at least 5 years as a Site Superintendent overseeing tilt-up concrete projects.
Proven ability to lead teams, set clear goals, and deliver projects successfully despite challenges.
Strong understanding of construction sequencing, scheduling, budgeting, and site coordination.
Demonstrated knowledge of WSBC policies and safety procedures with a strong commitment to a safe workplace.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; able to work effectively with different personalities and stakeholders.
Self-motivated, results-driven, and adaptable to working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Honest, ethical, and committed to delivering work without cutting corners.
Strong problem-solving skills and a “can-do” attitude that thrives in a growing and evolving company.
Carpenter’s ticket or equivalent trade certification is a strong asset
Familiarity and hands-on experience with cranes, rigging, and tilt-up construction methods is a strong asset.
Previous experience working with small or mid-sized general contractors where adaptability and leadership are key is a strong asset.
