Job Description
Our client, a leader in the renewable energy sector, is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to oversee the planning, design, and execution of large-scale green energy projects. This role will be based in Montreal and offers the opportunity to make a direct impact on the development of innovative, sustainable energy solutions.
As Engineering Manager, you will lead a multidisciplinary engineering team, ensuring technical excellence across all phases of project delivery. You will collaborate closely with internal stakeholders, external partners, and contractors to ensure projects are executed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. The ideal candidate combines a strong engineering background with proven leadership skills and a passion for advancing clean energy.
Responsibilities:
Lead and manage a team of engineers and technical specialists across multiple disciplines.
Oversee the design, development, and execution of renewable energy projects, from concept through commissioning.
Ensure compliance with safety, regulatory, and environmental standards.
Develop and monitor project budgets, schedules, and resource plans.
Provide technical guidance, mentoring, and performance management for team members.
Collaborate with external engineering firms, contractors, and technology providers.
Support strategic decision-making by providing technical input to senior leadership.
Implement best practices, processes, and standards to optimize engineering efficiency.
Monitor project risks and develop mitigation strategies.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering; Master’s degree an asset.
Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation in Canada preferred.
10+ years of progressive engineering experience, including 3–5 years in a leadership role.
Proven experience managing large, complex industrial or infrastructure projects.
Strong knowledge of renewable energy, hydrogen, or related sectors is a significant asset.
Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, schedules, and multi-stakeholder projects.
Bilingual (English/French) communication skills strongly preferred.
