Outdoor Sporting Goods Sales Manager

Job Description

Our client, a sporting goods distribution company supporting outdoor enthusiasts in navigating the hunting and shooting equipment market, is seeking an experienced and results-driven Sales Manager to join their team.

In this working leadership role, you will lead and support the sales team, drive revenue growth, and maintain strong relationships with dealers and retail partners. You will collaborate with leadership, marketing, and product teams to align goals and ensure consistent brand representation across all channels.

This role requires strong communication skills, a strategic mindset, and a passion for the outdoor industry. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, is motivated by achieving targets, and excels at fostering a culture of team success.

Responsibilities:

  • Preparation of detailed and accurate programs (including stick diagrams) through:

  • Area offset reviews.

  • Internal alignment with various functional groups (Development / Geology / Asset teams, etc.).

  • Detailed cost estimates.

  • Adherence to area Basis of Well Design while assuring regulatory compliance.

  • Accurate document management.

  • Daily monitoring of drilling performance and rig KPIs

  • Service partner engagement and management

  • Project reviews, lookbacks & evaluation of new technology

  • Cross functional review of well design to ensure full life cycle needs are being met

  • Development planning through communication with asset teams to effectively design, plan

    and budget projects.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of sales experience, including 2+ years in a leadership or management role.

  • Proven success in B2B or wholesale distribution (experience in outdoor or sporting goods is an asset).

  • Strong leadership, coaching, and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to analyze sales data and make informed, strategic decisions.

  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation abilities.

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.

  • Proficiency with CRM tools and Microsoft Office Suite.

  • A passion for the outdoors, hunting, or shooting sports is considered a strong asset.
