Environmental Project Manager
Job Description
Catch Recruitment is seeking a talented, highly motivated, and enthusiastic Environmental Project Manager to join a well-established team of environmental professionals. With a growing presence across multiple office locations, we are looking for individuals to be based in either Guelph, ON, or Saskatoon, SK.
In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the successful, on-time, and on-budget delivery of projects while leading business development initiatives and providing mentorship to junior staff. Our diverse client base includes regional businesses, multinational oil and gas companies, government agencies, First Nations, power management firms, and transportation organizations.
Responsibilities:
Planning, organizing, and managing a diverse array of projects, people, and tasks
Understanding and managing project revenue
Liaising and negotiating with other partners, clients, regulators, contractors, and sub-contractors
Writing high-quality reports, cost estimates, and proposals
Creating project status reports and maintaining project documentation
Leading technical teams to ensure the quality, cost, and timeliness of deliverables
Contributing specialist expertise to multi-disciplinary projects
Providing mentorship and training for our environmental professional team
Providing excellent service to existing clients and maintaining those relationships
Supporting corporate business development initiatives
Ensuring clients and safety standards are maintained or exceeded
Working collaboratively within the corporate culture
Requirements
Degree or diploma in a related field (e.g., environmental science, biology, agrology, ecology)
Business development acumen (e.g., client relationships, strategic planning, proposal writing)
Knowledge of and experience with provincial and federal environmental standards, regulations or guidelines
Previous experience working in an environmental consulting firm and/or experience working in a similar role is preferred.
Accreditation or eligibility for accreditation with a professional governing body, as well as having a professional designation is preferred.
Experience with project management, leading projects, as well as leading project teams (i.e., budgeting, project tracking, cost-accounting and scope control)
A quick learner, easily adaptable to new software applications, systems, and business processes
Effective writing skills and able to produce meaningful reports and proposals
Excellent organizational skills, able to take initiative and drive results, effective problem solver, and able to think outside the box when required
Ability to work within a team setting, having a collaborative working style, and able to build and cultivate strong working relationships
Valid driver's licence from a Canadian province or territory acceptable for driving alone and with passengers in a work setting
