Senior Civil Engineer

Job Description

We are looking for a dedicated professional to join our client’s team in Calgary and Vancouver where you will play a key role in supporting projects that span multiple disciplines within our organization. In this role, you will lead and oversee various civil, geotechnical, and environmental engineering designs and studies, ensuring excellence in execution and implementation. Your expertise will help drive projects forward, foster collaboration, and inspire new and improved methods in the field

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver front-end, preliminary and detailed engineering designs – from stormwater management/reservoirs to large earthen dams, site grading, and underground piping.

  • Supervising the development and authenticating, Civil designs, calculations, reports and dam safety-related studies and reports.

  • Conduct site visits and inspections as needed, ensuring quality and safety.

  • Collaborate across teams to develop project strategies and foster strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.

  • Mentor junior engineers and foster a culture of collaboration and growth.

  • Support cost estimates, schedules, and proposals while communicating results effectively to technical and non-technical audiences.and budget projects.

Requirements

  • Degree in Civil, Geotechnical or Environmental Engineering.

  • 12+ years of consulting or industry, with a focus on, civil earthworks engineering, and exposure to geotechnical analysis/reporting.

  • Registration with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA).

  • Experience within the Mining sector would be considered an asset.

  • Proven leadership, and excellent written/verbal communication.

  • Legally able to work in Canada.

  • Have a valid driver's license.

  • Experience with Civil earthworks engineering designs related to reservoirs, earthen structures, small and large earthen dams, surface water management, roadways, underground piping, and site grading.

  • Experience with stormwater and sanitary sewer designs, surface water management designs and modelling.

  • Experience with the preparation of clear and comprehensive engineering design reports,construction execution plans, technical notes and client presentations.
