Job Description
Catch Recruitment is working with a leading organization in the green energy sector to identify a Senior Procurement Manager for a high-profile infrastructure initiative in Quebec. This full-time leadership role will oversee strategic procurement planning, execution, and supplier management for a multi-billion-dollar renewable energy project—one of the largest of its kind in the region.
Our client is looking for an experienced professional with a strong background in procurement for large-scale capital projects, ideally in sectors like oil & gas, mining, or chemicals. The successful candidate will bring both operational excellence and a sustainability-driven mindset to help deliver this transformative initiative.
Responsibilities:
Lead the end-to-end procurement process for critical materials, equipment, and services—supporting major infrastructure and energy development timelines.
Develop and manage procurement strategies aligned with overall project goals, budgets, and milestones.
Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to ensure procured items meet all technical requirements and design standards.
Negotiate contracts and manage relationships with local and global suppliers, maintaining performance standards and ESG alignment.
Ensure compliance with applicable regulations, contract law, and trade policies across international jurisdictions.
Identify procurement risks and cost drivers, implementing proactive mitigation plans and cost-saving opportunities.
Lead tendering activities (RFx), oversee bid evaluations, and support commercial decision-making.
Track procurement budgets, monitor spending, and evaluate supplier financial health and performance.
Leverage ERP and procurement platforms (e.g., SAP, Ariba) to analyze data, generate insights, and deliver reporting to leadership.
Promote sustainable and responsible sourcing practices throughout all procurement activity.
Serve as a liaison between key departments—legal, finance, engineering, and external vendors. Communicate effectively in both English and French.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, or a related field.
10–15 years of experience in procurement roles within capital-intensive industries.
At least 5 years of procurement leadership experience on large-scale ($500M+) infrastructure or energy projects.
Strong knowledge of procurement law, international trade regulations, and risk mitigation strategies.
Deep understanding of technical specifications related to industrial chemical processes and equipment.
Experience with green energy or sustainability-driven procurement is a strong asset.
PMP or specialized training in project procurement is a plus.
Skilled in budget planning, supplier analysis, and ROI-focused decision-making.
Advanced proficiency in ERP/procurement platforms (SAP, Oracle, Ariba) and reporting tools.
Fully bilingual (French/English) with strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills.
