Senior Aquatic Project Manager – Edmonton, AB
Job Description
We’re working with a respected environmental consulting firm to hire a Senior Aquatic Project Manager based in Edmonton. This role combines project leadership with technical expertise in aquatic biology. You'll manage a variety of high-impact environmental projects across Alberta and beyond—supporting industries such as energy, infrastructure, and government while mentoring junior staff and fostering client relationships.
Responsibilities:
Manage environmental projects from planning to completion, with a focus on aquatic biology
Lead multidisciplinary teams, ensuring quality, budget, and schedule targets are met
Provide technical guidance on aquatic assessments, permitting, and compliance
Liaise with clients, regulators, contractors, and Indigenous communities
Develop proposals, prepare budgets, and respond to RFPs
Write and review technical reports, status updates, and project documentation
Support business development and strategic growth initiatives
Mentor and support junior staff, encouraging technical development
Promote and uphold workplace safety and company values
Requirements
B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Biology, Environmental Science, or related field
10+ years of experience in aquatic biology and/or environmental consulting
Strong project management skills including budgeting, scheduling, and client relations
Experience with environmental monitoring, inspection, and permitting processes
Knowledge of federal and provincial environmental regulations, including the Fisheries Act
Effective written and verbal communication skills
Proven ability to lead teams and work collaboratively in a dynamic environment
Professional designation or eligibility (e.g., R.P.Bio., P.Biol.) is an asset
Valid driver’s license and ability to travel as needed
