Senior Project Manager – Quality / Operations & Production (Independent Contractor - 6 months)

Job Description

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Project Manager to lead complex, cross-functional initiatives across Quality, Operations, and Production within the Calgary, BC region. This independent contractor role requires a self-driven leader capable of delivering stability, operational excellence, and quality across multiple stakeholders and teams. You will work closely with technical, operational, and quality teams to ensure program objectives are delivered on time, on budget, and with measurable results.

This is a 100% independent contractor role; applicants must be eligible to provide services as a self-employed contractor.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead end-to-end delivery of projects across Quality, Operations, and Production work streams.

  • Develop and manage integrated project plans, schedules, dependencies, resourcing, and cost estimates using PMP methodologies.

  • Oversee project scope, timelines, budgets, risks, and issues; implement mitigation strategies and escalate as needed.

  • Prepare and present regular project status updates and executive-level communications.

  • Support cross-functional project teams, resolving day-to-day delivery challenges.

  • Facilitate stakeholder meetings, workshops, and team discussions to drive alignment.

  • Maintain comprehensive project documentation and ensure knowledge transfer and handovers.

  • Support operational readiness, change management, and go-live activities to ensure smooth execution.

  • Drive accountability, execution discipline, and quality excellence across all project phases.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of project management experience delivering large, complex projects within transformational programs.

  • PMP Certification (mandatory).

  • Experience working in regulated or safety-critical environments.

  • Strong understanding of SDLC and Agile methodologies.

  • Proven experience managing schedules, risks, issues, dependencies, and resources.

  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and negotiation skills.

  • Highly self-driven with strong leadership capabilities.

  • Aviation or aerospace industry experience is a strong asset.

  • Maintenance, Operations & Repair (MRO) experience is a strong asset.
