Electrical Technical Representative

Job Description

Our client is hiring an Electrical Technical Representative-5 who will provide top-tier advice and services on projects and at customer locations. This position will be based in Regina/Saskatoon. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge and hands-on experience in addressing complex technical challenges. With a deep background in electrical assignments, the candidate will work independently and effectively at our client’s customer sites or within our departments. This role involves routinely solving problems where the issues are clear, but the solutions require a comprehensive understanding of field-specific processes.The successful candidate will act as an internal consultant, offering recommendations that influence the direction and performance of projects or programs. They will also play a key role in coordinating and integrating service delivery across various departments, establishing strong working relationships to ensure smooth operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Performs electrical or mechanical tasks, on-site or substation maintenance, shutdowns and commissioning efforts.

  • Ensures accuracy of installation (inspection, testing, etc.) prior to bringing the system or equipment online

  • Prepares formal documentation regarding testing and commissioning processes.

  • Provides  field support including connecting systems and equipment, testing, etc.

  • Supports the electrical aspects of projects by troubleshooting, diagnosing, and solving complex technical problems.

  • Provides technical consultation and training to customers by research testing technologies and industry capabilities or advancements.

  • Researches and identifies expansion or additions to current system to enhance customers electrical processes.

  • Maintains customer’s systems and plants to ensure smooth operation.

  • Advises the onsite crew in addressing problems and troubleshooting; oversees corrections/solutions until the problem is resolved.

  • Performs onsite tests and assessments using available tools; resolves identified issues by determining best solution and resources

Requirements

  • Requires an Electrical Engineering Technology diploma or Journeyperson Certificate.

  • 10+ years experience.

  • Has the ability to promote on the job safety on all occasions.

  • Willingness and experience to mentor and train junior employees.
