Job Description

Catch Recruitment is seeking a Tax Manager in Calgary, AB who will support tax projects by strategizing, compiling, and evaluating provincial and federal tax filings for both businesses and individuals. The role entails aiding clients by navigating tax challenges and obligations linked to complex business dealings. The preferred Candidate must be an energetic professional, who leads by example, enjoys working with owner managed/private companies, can multi task to meet deadlines and has strong communication skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Assisting and working with the Tax Partner and Senior Tax Consultants on various tax consulting assignments.

  • Manage multiple tax engagements by planning, preparing and analyzing provincial and federal tax returns for organizations and individuals.

  • Assist clients to effectively manage tax risks and liabilities associated with intricate business transactions.

  • Prepare federal and provincial income taxes for individuals, businesses, real estate, and exempt organizations

  • Assist with internal memorandums, written correspondence/guidance, private letter rulings and other documents for submission to the CRA.

  • Effective communication with our clients, our partners and staff

Requirements

  • CPA Designation

  • Post designation experience working in public practice tax group.

  • Enrolled or completed or desire to enroll in the In-Depth Tax Course

  • Ability to prioritize, delegate work and manage multiple tasks.

  • Solid analytical and decision making qualities.

  • Experience in Domestic Tax in the following areas: Corporate, trusts, individual, sole-proprietor, estate tax planning, reorganizations.
